Dr Richard Aldous was first appointed Executive Director of Victoria’s Minerals and Petroleum Division in January 2002. In January 2009 he was appointed Acting Deputy Secretary of Energy and Earth Resources; and subsequently appointed Deputy Secretary of Energy and Earth Resources in September 2009.
He has worked in the earth resources industry in Australia, South Africa, UK, Indonesia and Zimbabwe. His background is in geoscience, chemical engineering, technology, business development and planning. He has worked with BHP, Newcrest, Iluka and Western Mining Corporation (WMC) before joining the Victorian Government where he has responsibility for the minerals and upstream petroleum industries operating in Victoria. |
